Requirements for Breeding Gobbleygourds
To breed the elusive Gobbleygourd in My Singing Monsters, you’ll need to meet a few requirements first.
- Make sure you have an upgraded Breeding Structure. The basic one won’t cut it for breeding epic monsters like the Gobbleygourd. Upgrade it to at least level 10.
- Have a Entbrat and a Pango in your monster collection. These two monsters are required to breed a Gobbleygourd. If you don’t have them yet, try breeding them or purchasing them from the StarShop.
- Level up your Entbrat and Pango to at least level 10. Higher level monsters have a better chance of breeding rare monsters. Level 15 is even better if you have the starpower.
- Make sure you have at least 50 diamonds on hand. Breeding Gobbleygourds isn’t cheap, and it can take a few tries to be successful. Diamonds speed up the breeding process.
- Be patient. Even when you have the right conditions, Gobbleygourds can take time. It may take multiple tries over days or even weeks. Don’t give up! With perseverance, you’ll hear that familiar breeding song and know you’ve got a Gobbleygourd egg on the way!
Once you have your new Gobbleygourd, make sure to place it on an upgraded habitat appropriate for its kind, keep it well fed, and level it up for even better chances of getting more Gobbleygourds in the future. Breeding rare monsters is challenging but so rewarding. Keep at it and your monster collection—and island song!—will be epic in no time!
Finding Gobbleygourds on Your Islands
To breed Gobbleygourds, you first need to find them on your islands. The easiest way is to look for their unique shape – they look like little round pumpkins with green stems.
Once you spot some Gobbleygourds, place them on your island. You’ll want to group at least two together so they can start breeding. The more Gobbleygourds clustered together, the faster they’ll breed.
- To speed up breeding, make sure Gobbleygourds have access to food sources like farms, bakeries or pantries. Well-fed monsters breed faster!
- Also place Gobbleygourds in a secluded area of your island, away from paths and other decorations. Monsters prefer privacy for breeding.
- Don’t forget that Gobbleygourds, like most monsters, need certain environmental conditions to breed, including the right combination of elements. Check that you have the Plant, Cold and Air elements around the Gobbleygourds.
It can take a while for Gobbleygourds to start breeding, so be patient. Once they do, you’ll see little baby Gobbleygourds – known as “Gobblygourdlings” – appear around the parents. Gobbleygourdlings take time to mature into adults, but once grown, they can also start breeding and help populate your island.
With the right conditions and a little patience, you’ll have a thriving Gobbleygourd population before you know it. Keep an eye on them though, as Gobbleygourds can breed quite quickly and may overrun your island if left unchecked! Manage their numbers by selling or moving excess Gobbleygourds to other islands.
Placing Gobbleygourds in Breeding Structures
Once your Gobbleygourds have reached maturity, it’s time to place them in a breeding structure so they can produce offspring. My Singing Monsters has several options for encouraging your monsters to breed.
Breeding Castle
The classic breeding castle is a simple two-story stone building. Place one Gobbleygourd on each floor and wait for the hearts to appear, indicating they are ready to breed. This is the most basic option and produces Gobbleygourds at an average rate.
Breeding Tent
For a faster breeding time, place your Gobbleygourds in a colorful silk tent. The cozy, romantic atmosphere will inspire your monsters to breed more quickly. Check back often, as Gobbleygourds in a breeding tent can produce offspring in as little as 4 to 6 hours.
Breeding Stables
If you want even quicker results, the breeding stables are your best choice. These wooden structures, resembling a horse stable, create the perfect environment for speedy breeding. Your Gobbleygourds could produce offspring in just 2 to 3 hours when placed in breeding stables. However, the stables do require more resources to build compared to other options.
Additional Tips
- Place Gobbleygourds of the same element together for the best results, as this will increase their chemistry.
- Use torches, lamps or other lighting to keep the area bright, since Gobbleygourds are most active during the day.
- Play your Gobbleygourds’ favorite song to keep them happy and encourage breeding.
- Check all breeding structures frequently so you can move offspring to a nursery as soon as they hatch.
- Consider using diamonds or coins to speed up the breeding process. The time can be reduced by 50-90% depending on how many are used.
With the right breeding environment and a little patience, you’ll have a new generation of Gobbleygourds joining your song in no time!
The Breeding Process: Mating, Eggs, and Hatching
Once you have two Gobbleygourds of opposite genders in your monster world, it’s time to breed them. Breeding Gobbleygourds requires patience but is straightforward if you follow the proper steps.
Finding a Mate
The first step is to identify a Gobbleygourd of the opposite gender to breed with. You can tell a Gobbleygourd’s gender by its physical appearance. Male Gobbleygourds have a small tuft of fur on their head, while females do not have any fur. Once you have a male and female Gobbleygourd, place their homes next to each other. This will increase their chances of mating.
Mating
When Gobbleygourds of opposite genders are placed together, there is a possibility they will mate. Mating between Gobbleygourds happens randomly, so you’ll need to wait for the Gobbleygourds to mate on their own. When they do mate, you’ll see a heart icon appear over the female Gobbleygourd, indicating she is now carrying fertilized eggs.
Eggs and Hatching
In a few hours after mating, the female Gobbleygourd will lay eggs. You’ll see 2-3 eggs with orange spots appear in the Gobbleygourd’s home. Don’t move or sell the eggs. Keep them in the same home as the parents.
The eggs will hatch into baby Gobbleygourds, known as Gobblygoos, after roughly 6-8 hours. Make sure the parents are still in the same home when the eggs hatch. The Gobblygoos will need to stay with their parents for a full day after hatching before you can move them to their own home or sell them.
With some patience, you’ll have a new generation of Gobbleygourds hopping around your monster world in no time. Keep at it and your island will be overrun with these colorful creatures!
Caring for Baby Gobbleygourds
Once your Gobbleygourds have hatched, it’s important to provide them proper care as they grow into adults. These baby monsters need attention and nurturing to develop into happy, healthy adults.
Feeding
- Feed your baby Gobbleygourds every 4-6 hours. Place 3-5 pieces of food in their habitat at a time, as their small bodies can only handle a few bites at once.
- Offer a variety of treats like shrimp, fish, bugs, and seeds to provide nutrients.
- As they get bigger, slowly increase the amount of food and decrease feeding frequency. By the time they’re juveniles, 2-3 feedings a day of 10-15 pieces of food will suffice.
Habitat
Keep the babies in a simple habitat with soft bedding, hiding spots, and things to climb on. Place multiple small dishes of shallow water around the habitat so the little ones stay hydrated. Mist them with lukewarm water or give them access to a shallow pool for bathing. Change about 25% of the bedding every few days to keep the area clean.
Interacting and Handling
Spend time with your baby Gobbleygourds each day handling and interacting with them to help socialize these little monsters. Gently scoop them up and hold them close while talking, singing or feeding them treats. This helps them associate you and handling with positive experiences. Be very gentle and support their whole body, as babies can be injured easily from falls.
With the proper feeding, housing, and socializing, your baby Gobbleygourds will grow into healthy, personable adults. While the first few weeks require frequent care and attention, watching these little monsters develop into their full potential makes all the hard work worthwhile! Keep up the good work and you’ll have a habitat full of happy, singing Gobbleygourds before you know it.
